On Wednesday 21st October 2009 there will be a public meeting to launch the Bagshot Village Plan. The plan is part of a consultation process in which the people of Bagshot can express their views on and aspirations for the future of their village. The meeting is an opportunity to find out more about the Bagshot Village Plan & its effect on the village. It is also a chance to meet & speak with the people already involved, ask questions, make suggestions & find out what needs doing.

The problem with the Bagshot Society and village Plan and this web site is that you need to have one membership list and an easy way to communicate with Bagshot residents. We have tried to get our name onto the hotmail list but failed. I would be prepared to be more involved and configure a membersip web site where people can join (for free) and also post events and manage email and subscriptions etc. We did it for our yacht club and can do it again. The Village Plan and Society can be the same thing as it is really already. Even if you leave a message on this web site, I bet you no one comes back to you – not Glyn will prove me wrong. We will come to the meeting and see what we can offer as currently, my view is nowhere!
Hi Mike,
I think a number of people have identified communication as a key topic that needs to be addressed to help build a community like Bagshot. It’s great to hear you are willing to help build the solution. There is already some work going on to look at communication so we’d value your input and help. Perhaps we could meet to discuss this more? I’ll email you directly to arrange.
Thanks Stefan
Unfortunately, I cannot attend the meeting on 21st October but would have like to come and show support. I had no idea the meeting was on until I received the Bagshot Directory yesterday so maybe the communication issue is relevant. I love living in Bagshot but am concerned at the number of empty shops at present and that it gives a feeling of a run-down, neglected and unhappy place. we need to encourage small businesses that are useful to the community (no more bathroom/kitchen shops or take aways please!). Perhaps a florist, a bakery, a hardware shop, or a delicatessen. i am sure there are many other suggestions.Thank you for all your hard work to make Bagshot a vibrant and exciting place to live.
