Youth and Children

Introduction

Approx 300 people came to the exhibition at the Village Day in May 2008.   Here are the ideas and issues that were raised with respect to youth (11-18)  and children (0-11)

Input (as written)

• More playing field/equipment for children (similar to Berkshire)
• Space next to Bagshot Infants to have a lot more play equipment.  The one at Sunningdale is perfect
  • Second this comment – Bagshot play facilities totally inadequate for young children.
• More and better play facilities for young children
• Affordable housing for fathers looking after young children after separation
• Need more for children to do.  Play equipment for older children.  Places for children to go/hang out.
• Cinema
• Theme park
• Need more evening activities for 13yrs and older.
• Better play facilities with more available for young children and teenagers
• Children’s play area more central in village.
• Manage the play areas – a climbing frame (School field) that cannot be used for 6 months of the year because of the water-logged base is a joke.
• All age Village Activities
• Need easily available information on community activities and societies
• Make playing equipment better in park by Bagshot School
• We are 3^rd class citizens in Surrey Heath as regards decent play areas.
• “Finishing” School Road play area and fencing off area for children
  • Plus better playground
• Playground equipment in “open spaces” eg. Yaverland Drive
• Decent playground equipment like Sunningdale (x4)
• Keep more green areas for playgrounds forkids with stuff for older kids as well.
• Could we have a village hall for use by all sections of the community with good access and parking and open space outside.

• All of the wildlife

The thing I’d like to be better

• Reduce the speed limit through the village
• More places to meet the wildlife, like the country park
• More recycling areas to stop littering

• Put a sign by the pond to stop people putting things in

• Dog poo on path
• The drawing on the wall

• Near Bagshot Green in the stream needs clearing of weeds to make room for the ducks to swim
